いよいよ色展開もカタチの展開も広がりを見せてきました。

The color variations and design expansions have finally started to show a wide range of possibilities.

円、楕円それ以外に食卓を華やかにするカタチは？

What other shapes besides circles and ellipses can bring a touch of elegance to the dining table?

それが、あらゆる器を作りながら思っていたことです。

That is exactly what I had in mind while creating various vessels.

自宅のテーブルコーディネートで金彩の器を使うとき、縁に揺らぎを持たせているとはいえ、ほとんどの形が丸や楕円できちんとしすぎていました。

When using golden porcelain dishes for my home table setting, although I tried to add some variations to the edges, most of the shapes were too round or elliptical, appearing too neat and precise.

カタチが規則的すぎると食卓にリズムが生まれず、楽しさが伝わりにくいと感じていて、丸いもの以外にも作りたかったのですが、四角というイメージがなんだかピンと来ていなくて決められずにいました。

I felt that if the shapes were too regular, it would lack rhythm on the dining table and make it difficult to convey a sense of joy. I wanted to create something other than round shapes, but I couldn’t decide because I couldn’t quite envision square shapes.

そんな時、2021年ごろからハマりだしたタロットカードに出てくる八芒星（オクタグラム）を器へと落とし込み、星形を製作しました。

At that time, around 2021, I became fascinated with the octagram (eight-pointed star) that appeared in tarot cards, and I incorporated it into my ceramics, creating star-shaped Plate.

2021年のホリデーシーズンに販売したら良かったのですが、そのタイミングには間に合わず、2022年1～２月ごろに製品化が実現しています。

I wish I had released them during the 2021 holiday season, but unfortunately, I missed the timing. The product development was eventually completed around January to February 2022.

星のカタチなので縁にはプラチナではなく金彩が使いたくなり、既存のカタチでも金の縁取りで展開を始めました。

Since it is a star-shaped design, I felt inclined to use gold accents on the edges instead of platinum. Therefore, I started expanding the collection with existing shapes featuring gold trim.

この時点で黒の器はプラチナ彩のものと金彩のものの2種類になりました。

At this point, the black dishes were available in two variations: one with platinum accents and the other with gold accents.

同じ土、釉薬を使っていても人間の感覚的な問題なのか、プラチナ彩と金彩では黒の色味が違って見えます。

Even when using the same clay and glaze, there seems to be a difference in the black color perception between the platinum accents and the gold accents, perhaps due to human sensory perception.

縁取りの範囲は全体面積に対して小さいけれど、それだけの影響を与えるという事です。

Although the area of the accent trim is relatively small compared to the overall surface area, it has a significant impact on the overall perception of the plate.

そう思うとテーブルコーディネートを考えるのもとても楽しいものになります。

Indeed, thinking about table arrangements becomes a truly enjoyable experience.

最初の試作の際は、タロットカードの星の雰囲気に近寄せたくてフリーハンドで描いた型紙を作り、それを使っていましたが、制作時のロスが沢山出るのでもう少し形をシンメトリーに寄せたほうが良いと思って型紙を微修正しました。

During the initial prototyping phase, I wanted to capture the ambiance of the stars from the tarot cards, so I created freehand patterns. However, I noticed that this approach resulted in a lot of material waste during production. Consequently, I decided to make slight adjustments to the patterns to align the shape more symmetrically, believing it would be more beneficial.

型紙は、正方形を2つ重ね、中心から時計回りに45度スライドした八芒星です。

The pattern is an eight-pointed star formed by overlapping two squares and sliding them 45 degrees clockwise from the center.

タロットカードの星はもっとトゲトゲした星です。でも、その形にするとお皿として使える見込み部分がかなり小さくなってしまいます。それで、東洋の八芒星をモチーフにしました。

The star on a Tarot card is a spikier star. However, if we were to shape it that way, the usable surface as a plate would become considerably small. That’s why I chose the motif of the Eastern eight-pointed star.

タロットカードの星のカード。絵柄の可愛さだけでなくカードが持つ＜希望・理想・大切なモノ＞というキーワードも好きです。

当初、乳白色と黒のみで展開をしていたオクタグラムプレートですが、＜フチなしが欲しい＞とか、＜グレーやグレージュが欲しい＞という色々な方のお声もあり、一通り作ってみました。（が、結果的には人気が高くて、よく売れたのは乳白色と黒でした。笑）

Initially, the Octagram Plate was only available in milk white and black. However, due to requests such as ‘I want it without a lim’ and ‘I want it in gray or greige,’ we have created a full range of options.”

派生して、厚みを持たせた星のお香立ても作りました。

簡単なようでいて、分厚いタタラは中の空気抜きが大変なのだという事にも、作ってみてから気づきました。

きっと、鋳込みの陶芸であればこれらの問題はクリアされるのでしょうが、私は鋳込みをやったことがありません。

そんな理由でお香立てもたくさんロスが出ました。

出たロスは自宅のお香立てになっています。

As a variation, I also created incense holders in the shape of thickened stars. I realized, after making them, that even though it seems simple, removing air from the thicker Tatara Cray is quite challenging. I’m sure these issues would be resolved if I had experience with ceramic casting, but I have never tried it before. Due to these reasons, I ended up with a lot of waste in the process of making the incense holders. The waste ones are now being used as incense holders in my home.”

あらゆる色、カタチのゴブレット。奥の燻金のゴブレットはハリーポッターを見てイメージしてこの色にしました。

ゴブレットも作りました。

これは、タロットカードの世界観とナチュールワインのおかげです。

このふたつは同時期に興味を持ちだしたこともあり、オクタグラムプレートとゴブレットの組み合わせは単なる食器の域を超え始めてきました。笑

I also made goblets. This was inspired by the world of Tarot cards and natural wine. Since I became interested in both of these around the same time, the combination of the Octagram Plate and the goblet has started to go beyond mere tableware. (WW)

これもまた、タロットカードやトランプで遊ぶ際にサイコロが可愛ければ良いのに。と思ったことがきっかけで作ったものです。

ゴブレットのカタチはタロットカードに描かれるカップのカタチがイメージですが、大きくは2種類のカップのカタチがあることから円錐型とスクエア型を作りました。

実際にワインを飲むのは円錐型が飲みやすいです。

こんな風に、その時、自分が興味を持った＜ナニカ＞で使うアイテムを常に陶器で作って来ています。

I made it because I thought it would be cute to have a die for playing Tarot cards or card games. I also made Astrodice, which are dodecahedron-shaped dice with zodiac signs on them. In this way, I always create ceramic items that I can use with something I’m interested in at that time.

またナチュールワインとゴブレット、タロットカードの事などもブログで書きたいと思います。
