そんなことを思って作った器がこちらです。

Here is a bowl I made with this in mind.

そんなことを言うと、茶道を舐めてるとか言われそうだけど、3名分くらいをまとめて点てられるようにお抹茶を点てる為だけの片口を作りました。

I know I might be accused of licking the tea ceremony when I say this, but I made a katakuchi just for serving matcha so that I can serve it for three people at once.

そもそも、そんなことを考えたのは私がお抹茶好きで、お客様が自宅へいらっしゃった際もお抹茶をお出しする機会が比較的多いからです。

The reason I thought of such a thing is because I am a matcha (powdered green tea) lover, and I have relatively many opportunities to serve matcha when guests come to my home.

ただ、おひとりさま分ずつ点てていると、お茶席のような状況でない場合、皆さん、気を使ってくださり全員分が揃うのを待ってくださいます。

そうなると、一番最初に点てたお茶は泡が消え始めてあまり美しくなくなります。

However, if I am making tea for one person at a time and the situation is not like a tea ceremony, people will be very considerate and wait until everyone has had their share.

If this happens, the first tea I make will start to lose its bubbles and will not be very beautiful.

その状態で口にしていただくのがなんとなく嫌で、３名分ほどの量を一気に点てたいと思うようになりました。

I kind of didn’t want to put it in my mouth in that state, so I began to think that I wanted to make about three servings at a time.

そして、それぞれの皆様のお抹茶茶碗に注げば、器も美しいまま。一石二鳥どころか３鳥くらいありそうです。

And if I pour it into my own matcha bowl, the bowl will remain beautiful as well. It seems that we can not only kill two birds with one stone, but three birds with one stone.

そんなことを思って大きめのお抹茶茶碗で小さな注ぎ口を付けた片口の様な器を作りました。

With this in mind, I made a large bowl of matcha with a small spout, like a kataguchi.

量を考えて大きめに作っているので口径も広いです。

必然的に、お抹茶を点ててみたいとおっしゃる未経験の方にも扱いやすい形となっています。

練習用としても、ご自宅でお友達とカジュアルにお抹茶をお飲みいただくときにも重宝します。

It is made in a large size with quantity in mind, so the bore is wide.

Inevitably, it is also easy to handle for inexperienced people who want to try their hand at making matcha.

It is also useful for practicing or for a casual cup of matcha with friends at home.

表千家や裏千家の作法を習得しているわけではありませんが、美味しく、目にも美しく、状態の良い抹茶をお客様に飲んでいただきたいという思いから、この器を作りました。

Although I have not mastered Omotesenke or Urasenke manners, I made this bowl out of the desire to have my customers drink Matcha that is tasty, beautiful to the eye, and in good condition.

勿論、正しい作法も私自身にきちんと身についていれば良いなぁ、とは思いますが、茶道の美しい所作を身につけるのはそう簡単なことではないです。

Of course, I wish I had learned the correct etiquette myself, but it is not so easy to learn the beautiful etiquette of the tea ceremony.

何度かお茶の先生のお点前を頂戴したことがありますが、どなたも皆さん美しく無駄のないあの一連の動きは素敵の一言に尽きます。

I have had the pleasure of being served by tea masters on several occasions, and I have to say that everyone’s movements are beautiful and lean.

あんな立ち居振る舞いが出来たらカッコいい。心からそう思います。

It would be cool if I could behave like that. I agree wholeheartedly.

ただ、茶道と思うと急にお抹茶のハードルが上がるのはこの年になっても感じてしまいます。

However, even at my age, I still feel that the hurdle for matcha is suddenly raised when I think of the tea ceremony.

こんなに見た目も綺麗でおいしい飲み物なのに、あまりにも特別感がありすぎると日常から遠のいてしまうと思います。

It is such a beautiful looking and tasty tea, but if it is too special, I think it will be too far removed from everyday life.

私は22歳の時、初めて一人暮らしをする際にはじめて自分専用の茶筅を持ちました。

When I was 22 years old and living alone for the first time, I owned my own tea whisk for the first time.

初めて東京に住んだ１DKの何もないアパートに茶筅とお抹茶だけは揃えてあり、自宅に遊びに来た友人たちは不思議がっていました。

When I first started living in Tokyo, I had a 1DK apartment with few household goods, but I had an assortment of tea whisks and matcha.
Therefore, friends who came to visit my house were mystified.

私にとってはお抹茶はコーヒーや紅茶、ココアと並ぶ日常的嗜好品の一つです。

For me, matcha is one of my daily tastes along with coffee, black tea, and cocoa.

そのくらい定期的にお抹茶を飲みます。

I drink matcha that regularly.

お抹茶が好きで、家でもよく点てるというと必ず「表千家？裏千家？」と聞かれるのですが、私の場合はそのどちらでもないです。

When I tell them that I like matcha and often make it at home, they always ask me, “Omotesenke or Urasenke?  I am not either of them.

勝手に名付けるなら中千家です。笑（田中の中を当て字にしてみました）

If I were to take the liberty of naming it, it would be Nakasenke. LOL (I tried to guess inside of Tanaka).

自宅で手作りの和菓子と共にお抹茶をお出しするときに3名分をみんなで楽しくおいしく、カフェでコーヒーを飲むような感覚でカジュアルに楽しんでいただく為にこの器を作った。

I made this bowl so that when I serve matcha with handmade Japanese sweets at home, three people can enjoy it together in a fun and delicious way, as casually as if they were drinking coffee at a café.

今のところとても重宝しています。

So far it has been very useful.

先日も海外からのお客様にお抹茶体験をしていただく機会があり、とても楽しい時間となりました。

We recently had the opportunity to offer a Matcha (powdered green tea) experience to a guest from overseas, and it turned out to be a very enjoyable time.

珈琲でも、紅茶でもココアでもどんな飲み物をお出しするときでも同じです。

It is the same when serving coffee, tea, cocoa or any other beverage.

お客様に対する【おもてなし】の気持ちが根本にあって、そのためにどんな器が良いかな？と考えたり、時には食器棚からお客様自身に器を選んでいただいたり、そういうちょっとした時間はとても楽しいものです。

The fundamental idea of Omotenashi (hospitality) for our customers is what kind of tableware would be best for them. Sometimes we let the customers choose their own tableware from the cupboard, and it’s fun to spend a little time like that.

お抹茶もそんな風に楽しむ人が増えたら良いな、と思います。

I wish more people would enjoy matcha in that way.

こちらは、半径３ｍ内での時間、人の為に作った器であって、たくさん作って製品化する予定はありません。

These are vessels made for time and people within a 3-meter radius, and we do not plan to make a lot of them and commercialize them.

ただ、お抹茶を楽しみたいという同じ嗜好を持った方からのオーダーはお受けしたいと思います。

However, I would like to accept orders from people who have the same taste to enjoy matcha.
